What you can expect
Most mornings follow a familiar rhythm – bags away, hat on, a quick check-in with your child’s educator, then straight into it.
If they’re a bit wobbly, we stay close, offer reassurance and guide them into play, so you’re not stuck doing the awkward leg-peel at the door.
Throughout the day you’ll get thoughtful updates through Xplor. Photos, learning notes and little moments you’d otherwise miss, so you always know how their day is going.
You can expect:
- Honest, two-way conversations – not just at pickup, but whenever you need them
- Educators who remember the details that matter to your child and your family
- Regular chances to be involved: events, celebrations, check-ins and goal-setting sessions.
Starting at Big Little Futures
Before your child’s first day, we invite you in for an orientation visit so things already feel familiar.
You’ll meet their educators, explore the rooms and outdoor spaces, chat through routines and any specific needs, and ask as many questions as you like.
Together we’ll plan a gentle start – shorter days if needed, extra check-ins, and plenty of updates so you know how they’re settling. Most children find their rhythm quickly once they know the faces, the spaces and what’s coming next.
Health, safety & wellbeing
Your child’s safety and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything we do.
We work within the National Quality Framework with clear policies around supervision, health, hygiene, rest and emergency procedures. Educators hold current first aid and child-safe training, and we regularly review our practices through our Quality Improvement Plan.
Sun safety, safe outdoor play, allergy-aware food practices and clear illness guidelines are all part of our everyday routine – so you can feel confident your child is in safe, steady hands.
How we partner with parents
We see families as partners, not bystanders. You know your child best; we bring our expertise in early learning. Together, we shape a strong start.
Day to day, that looks like quick check-ins at drop-off and pick-up, real-time updates through Xplor, and time set aside for deeper chats when you need them. We set learning goals together, share observations and celebrate the wins – big and small.
We encourage you to:
- ask questions or raise concerns
- share your child’s interests, culture and routines
- meet with educators or the centre leadership team.
What to bring each day
Children don’t need much to have a great day – just a few essentials they can manage themselves.
Most families pack:
- a clearly labelled bag
- a sun-safe hat and a water bottle
- a spare set of clothes, including underwear and socks
- morning tea and lunch in easy-to-open containers.
If your child has a comfort item for rest time (a small soft toy or blanket), they’re welcome to bring that along too.
